'Country Music' comes to WVU


Fans of county music can get a look into what role West Virginians played in the evolution and growth of country music Tuesday night at the WVU Creative Arts Center in Morgantown.

West Virginia Public Broadcasting will present an early look at “Country Music: A Film by Ken Burns,” an upcoming documentary on Public Broadcasting.

The evening includes special, West Virginia-related footage from the 16-hour documentary, appearances by the show’s producers and writer, along with musical performances by country stars and West Virginia natives Kathy Mattea and Charlie McCoy.The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $13.
