The Americana Music Association announced on Monday that CMT will air the television special "2018 AmericanaFest" on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m.
The 90-minute celebration of the year's best in roots music was taped during the 17th annual Americana Honors and Awards ceremony, which was held at the Ryman Auditorium in September.

It will feature performances by Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Buddy Guy, Irma Thomas, k.d. lang, and Rosanne Cash, as well as Brandi Carlile, Fantastic Negrito, I'm With Her, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, John Prine, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and Tyler Childers.
The show will also include a salute to the late Aretha Franklin with a righteous rendition of "Chain of Fools" performed by Thomas, Carlile, the McCrary Sisters, the War and Treaty and Courtney Marie Andrews and exclusive artist interviews. . .
