Steep Canyon Rangers "Out In The Open"

Steep Canyon Rangers first album with Ramsuer Records is picking guitar and plucking hearts as this album has melancholy moods all the way through.

Starting with “Farmers and Pharaohs," a tune that will hold the heartbeat of any bar in the Blue Ridge Mountains while capturing feelings of love and regret at the same time. One of the highlights of the album is “Can’t Get Home” a well written tale of a nomadic mind. “I did my first tour in ‘94, I was following the Dead, I didn’t fight no war.”

Where this lyric is mostly hilarious, it and the rest of the song actually illustrates reality for some people. “Shenandoah Valley” is surely the only easy listening track.

A feel good, whistle while you work song. Especially compared to the rest of the album which grabs your soul with songs you will relate to on some level, that you never thought you would.

Catch them on a lengthy tour running into late October with shows all over the country, many of which will feature Steve Martin and Martin Short. A band known as Steve Canyon Rangers.

"Out in the Open" is available now at iTunes and Amazon!
